Synopsis

Since the dumming down of the Xfinity Gateway, where it is no long possible to configure advanced settings with the web-interface on the router lan IP address. Now parts can be done in the web-interface like setting static IP addresses. While other parts like Port Forwarding must be done with the Xfinity app.

The problem is that in the Xfinity app port forwards can only be done to devices that are in the DHCP table. To resolve this, devices with a Static IP address have to be put in DHCP table with a reserved IP address.

Implementation

On the Router

Go to the web interface on the Xfinity router and login.

This is default 10.0.0.1, with account admin and password password.

Then at the left side pane under [Connected Devices] / [Devices], Select in the right side pane the [ADD DEVICE WITH RESERVED IP] button, and add information in the [Add Device with Reserved IP Address] form.

On the Xfinity App

In the Xfinity App in the Bottom row select the WiFi button.

Then in the new screen select [ View WiFi equipment ] Half way the screen.

In the WiFi equipment screen select [ Advanced settings ].

In the Advanced settings screen select [ Port forwarding ].

In the Port Forwarding screen select the [Add Port Forward] button.

In the Add Port Forward screen under the [ Select one ] option select which should be in the list with its Hostname.
